John Gizis

John joined the faculty of the University of Delaware in 2001. He specializes in observations of very-low-mass stars and brown dwarfs, and was part of the 2MASS Rare Objects Team that developed the L and T dwarf classifications. He was elected co-chair of the Stars, Milky Way & Local Volume Science Collaboration in 2015. Recently John was involved in efforts to encourage interdisciplinary data science at UD and is currently serving as Associate Director of the UD Data Science Institute.
